Use a Glue Gun to Write on Glass!

Remember these bottles decorated with paint and a glue gun by Pure and Noble? Simple and beautiful. I was sure it would be SO easy to use a glue gun to write on glass.

I was wrong. My shaky hands almost ruined everything!

And that's why I have perfect confidence that your version of my project will be much nicer than this:

Tutorial after the jump . . .

You will need:

Steady Hands. No joke.
Sharpie
Damp paper towels
Glue gun
Frame with glass insert
Three colors of paint and paintbrushes
Rubbing alcohol
Q-tips

Take out glass insert from frame. Use a Sharpie to write whatever you wish on the glass insert. Make sure to leave space around the edges so the glass will still fit in the frame. Don't worry if you make a mistake! Just use the damp paper towels to rub off the marker. Works like a charm :-). Promise!

Go over the Sharpie markings with your glue gun. Steady hands, people. Steady hands. Fill in any bubble letters with glue. Hold up the glass to the light to see if you've missed any letters. Add glue to the missed spots.

Cover glass with first color of paint. Dry. Add coat of second color. Dry. Add coat of third color. Can you guess the next step?

Dry.

Remember how I used rubbing alcohol on the penny vase? Same concept. Use rubbing alcohol on cotton swabs to remove the white and some of the gold paint from the letters. Lightly rub the wet swabs over the raised areas and any other area you'd like to highlight. For instance, I removed some paint under 'you'.

Let dry and set the glass back into the frame. Stand back and admire the gorgeousness.

You're done! You've survived! Thank goodness.
