Dreamy, romantic book-page hearts ...
- Book
- Jigsaw OR scissors
- Hemp
- Hot Glue Gun
- Hemp Cord
- Ribbon, Fishing Line or Tulle
Cut up your book! I used a jig saw. SUPER FUN.
Or you can cut the pages by hand. If you're cutting pages by hand, cut the paper into 1 inch strips.
Count out 10 strips, then another ten strips.
Curve the 2-10 stack strips toward each other (see picture, below).
Staple the bottom end.
Staple the inner pieces together (see picture, below).
Trim off the book binding, if necessary.
Cut off a small length of hemp cord. Place hot glue around back and front of staple. Wrap the cord around the staples/glue. Press hemp into glue and hold for a few seconds to secure. Repeat cording process with second staple.
Make two holes. Use a bigger hole punch if you're using tulle to hang the heart.
Pull the ends of the tulle/string/ribbon UP from inside of the heart.
Knot or tie a bow, as desired.
Hang over doorknobs, chair backs, light fixtures or use as a gift topper!
