DIY Paper Fireworks Flower Tutorial

You'll need a paper cutter with a super sharp cutting blade to make these Paper  Fireworks Flowers!

I came up with this idea while making flowers for a country/cowgirl baby shower!

Supplies:
  • Sheets of  Paper - You'll get better results if you use paper that's the same color on both sides, such as music paper or index pages from old map books:

1st Sheet - 4" x 4"
2nd Sheet - 7 1/2" x 11" (or 12")
3rd Sheet - 7 1/2"x 11" (or 12")
4th Sheet - 8" x 11" (or 12")

  • Paper Cutter
  • Scissors
  • Double-Sided Tape
  • Glue Gun
  • Decorative Straws or Craft Sticks
  • Floral Tape (optional)

Use the paper cutter to cut thin strips in the center of the paper, leaving a margin of 1/2 inch uncut on each edge,

Repeat with each sheet of paper.

Place a strip of double-sided tape on one uncut long edge of the paper. Bend the other end over, slightly off-set from the edge. Make sure not to fold the cut strips!

Repeat with all sheets of paper.

Start rolling the smallest paper until the end fits inside a straw. Cut off the excess paper. Glue the end and quickly stick it inside of the straw.

Add a drop of glue to the end of the 2nd paper. Wrap it around the straw once. Glue into place. Cut off excess. Repeat with 3rd paper.

Cut remainder of 2nd and 3rd sheets of paper into small segments. Cut away the corners. Glue sections around the straw. Repeat with 4th sheet of paper.

Wrap floral tape around the glued sections, if desired.

Enjoy the fireworks!
