Charmeuse & Lace Table Runners
Jun 5, 2014
Charmeuse is a lovely fabric that combines a terrific drape with an iridescent satin sheen. It can be bit tricky to work with, however, so I'd classify this as an intermediate project. Follow the tutorial to make your own charmeuse table runners for weddings, home decor or gifting!

Felt Petal Wreath
Mar 14, 2014
I had a special request come in for a felt wreath tutorial. Sorry it took so long! <3
Kinda made this up as I went along. I wanted something different from the felt wreaths I'd seen before.
Be prepared to devote time to this project. It took me four hours from start to finish.

DIY Easy Nursery Decor
Feb 1, 2014
Looking for an easy nursery decor idea? How about this:
So easy! Relatively quick. Make any shape you desire! An infinite amount of color/fabric combinations.
Don't let the blanket stitch scare you (click on the picture - not on the round pinterest logo! - to see the stitch more clearly). Using the blanket stitch on your machine is no harder that the regular plain stitch. Do a practice run on scrap fabric if you're nervous :-). Tutorial after the jump.

DIY Penny Vase (with a twist!)
Jan 29, 2014
Featured on That's Fresh Friday!
I'm sure you've seen Vone Inspired's Lucky Penny Vase. It's taken Pinterest by storm!
Copper seems to be the"in" color tone, judging by the response to both the penny vase and these gorgeous DIY Copper Dipped Vases by homeyohmy.
I wasn't immediately a fan of the Lucky Penny Vase. Seemed a bit too shiny at first. Then it grew on me and now I love it! But I still prefer a bit more subdued tone.
Here's my version.
(With a name like Muslin & Merlot, it's safe to assume that there's an empty wine bottle somewhere in the house.)
Upcycled wine bottle and white-rubbed pennies:

Fringed Table Runner Tutorial
Dec 17, 2013
Do you have two hours to waste and a neck + back you'd like to put a few knots into? Well, this project was tailor-made for you!
I've fringed a few table runners. Every single time, about half-way through, I wonder why the heck I decided to fringe the darn thing instead using a simple (fast!) folded hem.
But the fringe is so pretty!

Bachman's Ideas House: Winter 2013
Dec 9, 2013
The weather outside was kinda frightful. Trucks and cars were scattered in multiple ditches. Mike wanted to watch the football game(s). These concerns seemed merely trifles compared to my all-consuming need to see the Bachman's Holiday House.
A few years ago, my bonus sister told me about the Bachman's Ideas House. It's the old house next to Bachman's Floral off Lyndale Avenue. All of the rooms are fabulously decorated three times a year and everything is for sale. Some items are sold en mass inside the store, others are one-of-a-kind upcycle treasures! Here is a sampling of the things we saw today. If you'd like to see the house for yourself, I highly recommend buying tickets ahead of time. They sell out quickly.
Petal Cloud Tutorial
Nov 25, 2013
A few years ago I made a wreath following this tutorial at MaryJanes and Galoshes. While making decorations for a baby shower, I scrounged around one of my (sadly, many) miscellaneous craft boxes and found some 4x4 canvases. Why not use the wreath technique to make something else--something I already had the materials for? And that's how Petal Clouds were born!
